New Americans Advocacy Services (NAAS): our longest standing program assists immigrants and refugees of all backgrounds with permanent residency, family sponsorship applications, and citizenship.

MVMA is the only Vietnamese American organization in the nation that is recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), authorized to provide legal immigration assistance and representation. The executive director, Diane Vy Nguyen-Vu is the only Vietnamese BIA accredited representative in the area, and we have a pro-bono attorney to provide legal consultations.  Our clients include Southeast Asian, Caribbean, and African immigrants.
Montgomery County is 10th highest destination in the nation for intending immigrants, and last year, less than 14% of the 270,000 legal permanent residents in Maryland and Virginia that are eligible to naturalize became citizens.  Many cannot afford private immigration attorneys and end up getting bad advice through unqualified representatives and attorneys, thus having a negative impact on their immigration status.

Our services include completion of immigration forms.  Price will vary. Please contact our office at (301) 588-6862 for a full fee schedule and appointment.
Translation of documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, school reports, and affidavits are $50 per page with a public notary. Other translation and interpretation services are charged case by case. Call us for appointments and more information.

Legal questions? We have an attorney available to provide legal consultations two Mondays a month.  For questions or to schedule an appointment, email us at immigration@mdvietmutual.org or call us.
