Samuel Riggs Alumni Center

The Maryland Vietnamese Mutual Association (MVMA) will host its Annual "Tet" Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, January 26, 2008, from 10-4pm at University of Maryland-College Park's beautiful and spacious facility, the Samuel Riggs Alumni Center. The Tet Lunar New Year is the most celebrated holiday in many Asian cultures, particularly in the Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean communities. Since the 1980s, the Vietnamese American community has entrusted MVMA to organize the Tet Festival in Maryland.
We anticipate over 3,000 people will participate in this event. An additional 20,000 Vietnamese Americans and other Asian Americans residing in the DC metro area will be reached through Comcast Newsmakers’ CNN Headlines, Vietnamese

American Television, radio broadcasts, printed media, and MVMA & affiliated websites.
MVMA will celebrate the “Year of the Rat” with a Dragon Dance, a highly anticipated Áo Dài Vietnamese Traditional Dress Pageant, cultural education performances, and authentic Vietnamese food.
